Company

Carbonautica specialises in the design and manufacture of high quality Carbon Fibre components.

Since its foundation in 1998 by the Rosman brothers, Carbonautica has produced specialist carbon parts for applications as diverse as professional racing bicycles, rotors for radio-controlled helicopters and marine steering wheels.

With a manufacturing facility in Slovenia (EU), our main area of business is currently in the Marine sector where we make carbon components for many of the world’s leading yacht manufacturers as well as supplying Around-the-World yacht racing teams. Our current products include monocoque carbon fibre steering wheels, carbon instrument consoles, lightweight carbon gangways and high performance carbon or composite rudders. Carbonautica was the first to produce a true monocoque steering wheel for racing yachts with no bonds or seams and the quality of our work remains unrivalled. Our customers include CNB, X-Yachts, Elan, Shipman, Sweden Yachts, Finngulf and Baltic Yachts.

Having started in the professional bike-making business the Rosman brothers have become experts in complex curves and intricate stress loading.

After investment in 2004 Carbonautica has continued to grow, moving twice to bigger facilities, allowing improvements in technology each time. Our current facility houses our second, bigger 2.1m x 1.20m CNC milling machine allowing us to make moulds up to four metres in length which we do in ceramic for series productions or in Aluminium. It has allowed us to become independent from sub-contractors for design and mould manufacture. We have a 6m x 4m custon-built heated down-draft spray booth, and our curing oven can take objects up to 6 metres long.

Customers can now send us 3D rendering directly from their design departments and from that we can produce both the mould and the finished product to very critical tolerances. Many of our products have required and have been awarded CE (European Union “Kite-Mark”) certification.
